The sense of touch has always played a role in textile art. And fabric can be crunched and manipulated, creating intriguing shadows and hillocks.  Two years ago I decided to emphasize this tactile element by handstitching rows of varying colors and varying types of hand-dyed cotton or silk or other fibers.  A new series was born.
